
We are proud to celebrate Dr. Glaucia Mendes Souza’s promotion to Comendadora da Ordem de Rio Branco.
During the ceremony held at the Itamaraty Palace on May 27, 2025, Dr. Souza was recognized for her outstanding contributions to public policy through scientific research and the dissemination of knowledge on the decarbonization of transportation via sustainable biofuels.
She is a Full Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP), a member of the SBE Council, and part of the Coordination of the FAPESP BIOEN Program. Additionally, she contributes to the Global Bioenergy Partnership (GBEP) and the Biofuture Platform and serves on the councils of SCOPE and the World Bioenergy Association (WBA).
She is also a member of the editorial boards of Global Change Biology Bioenergy, Green Carbon, and Task 39 Biofuels.
