Dr. Plínio Nastari, one of the most influential and enthusiastic advocates for ethanol globally, received another important international recognition in August 2025 for his work promoting sustainable biofuels.

This time, the Universidad San Pablo Tucumán in Argentina honored him with the well-deserved title of Doctor Honoris Causa. On that occasion, Dr. Nastari recommended that YPF, an Argentine state-owned company, follow Brazil’s example and increase the proportion of ethanol in gasoline to accelerate the sustainable energy transition.

Dr. Nastari received his diploma from Catalina Lonac, president and founder of the Foundation for Development and the University of San Pablo – Tucumán.

The diploma ceremony was attended by the university’s rector and authorities from the Province of Tucumán, an indication of the importance of the award bestowed on Dr. Nastari.
